ChaCha blogged about us getting 'IN THE PINK', along with her high heel, zippered toe red shoes a few blogs ago.
I was supposed to respond with a blog about fitness.
I'm not sure if I don't take orders well or if I easily get distracted. Probally some of both.
But since I have a guilt thing going on if I don't do what my little sis tells me..................................................................
Traditionally Exercise
To be honest, the reason most people don’t traditionally exercise, you know going to the gym, working out to a video, or using some funky equipment is, well, because they hate it!
Does this mean we don’t need physical activity?
Well, of course we need physical activity to be healthy and fit, But maybe we need to change what we consider a ‘work out’ to be.
Let's think back to our great, great, grandparents. How did they get their excerise?
No treadmills (what did they hang their clothes on)
No ab loungers (what took up space in their bedrooms)
No zumba, or yoga, or butt blasters
Right???????
Right, they stayed fit by everyday activities of survival and life:
Walking, swimming, gardening, foraging, playing, etc.
So maybe if we do what our Grandmother Gerties or Aunt Vandas or Uncle Wesleys did, we might find an exercise routine we could stick with.
So here are some ideas to try out, just for a month....Because after 1 month of doing something, it becomes a habit. Okay, maybe it takes a little longer than that. But we are going to try it for a month.
OK?..................................
I really didn't hear you.......................................................................................................................................................................
Still waiting on you.....................................................

WITH GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE
1.WALK-wherever you can. It's beautiful outside right now!!!!!!
Hide the remote, so you have to get up to change the channel.
Walk to your co-workers office instead of calling.
Park your car at the farthest parking spot at the mall or Wal-mart.
Park your car at the grocery store and walk to pay the light bill, or the water bill, or the car tag, etc. Finish up at the grocery store for something 'good for you' to have for supper.
2.GO FOR A BIKE RIDE.
3.TAKE THE STAIRS. (you are conserving energy and elevators do
break down)
4.PLAY IN THE POOL WITH THE KIDS.
5.INVITE A FRIEND TO CATCH UP AND DO IT WHILE STROLLING IN THE PARK.
6.PLANT A GARDEN.
A few extras:
Buy a pedometer (step counter) we are supposed to walk
10,000 steps a day. Don't let this scare you.
Baby steps is how we start.
You may suprise youself when you see how much you walk in a day!
Many of these activities are also more environmentally friendly and could save you money on things like gas.
Keep a exercise journal.
Tell someone what you are doing.
It kinda holds you accountable to someone.
Do something you enjoy.
Maybe it will distract us from realizing that we are exercising!
So let's help each other get physically
'IN THE PINK'
Offer someone a word of encouragement.
We all need a little PUSH!
