Well, I know what it means and I'm smart enough to figure out what a soapbox is but ~~~~~~~ it's not really relevant today, is it? So what should it be?
"I'm on my step" (weak ~~~really weak)
"I'm on my stage" (who has one?)
"I'm on my stilts" (if you have any of these.....can I borrow?")
"I'm on my high heels" (ya gotta admit these are cuter than a box)
So I'm on my ~~ red patent leather with a zipper on the toe and a skinny silver heel ~~ high heels and I just don't understand people sometimes.
Okay, here's a start:
I don't understand why we reward bad behavior just to prevent a fuss!
I don't understand why the 'squeaky wheel gets oiled first'.
I don't understand why communicating our needs makes us needy. When we're hungry, we say we want to eat. When we're tired we say we want to sleep. When we're mad, we say *#**#.
So, what's so bad about saying we need a hug?
HERE'S THE BIGGY!!!
I don't understand why we are so resistant to saying good things about ourselves. Guess what?
Sometimes
We
Are
Pretty
Amazing!!
We don't have a problem saying good things about our family, our friends, our sixth cousin once removed, even that person down the road that we don't really even like, so what makes it different?
Do we think we're bragging? Do we not believe there is anything good about us? Have we been taught that complimenting ourselves is vain, proud, narcissistic, conceited or arrogant? I guess so.
It is NOT vain to say thank you for a compliment.
It is NOT narcissism to say, 'my hair looks good today'.
It is NOT arrogant to be proud that we got our house cleaned and still had time to paint our toenails red.
SO HERE'S THE PLAN:
We have decided to dedicate the next couple of weeks to getting ourselves
"IN THE PINK"
spiritually,
emotionally,
physically and
mentally
"Pink looks good on everyone, you just have to pink the right shade" anonymous
"Pink isn't just a color, it's an attitude!" Miley Cyrus
So step number 1:
Say something nice about yourself!!! Even it's just to the mirror, mirror on the wall. Maybe especially to the mirror and that person looking at you from it.
Every morning.....SAY IT.
Say something good about you.
And if you need any help coming up with something, just ask us...... BECAUSE
WE
KNOW
THAT
YOU
ARE
REMARKABLE!
"You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love & affection." Buddha
"The way you treat yourself sets the standard for others." Dr Sonya Friedman
"It's surprising how many persons go through life without ever recognizing that their feelings toward other people are largely determined by their feelings toward themselves, and if you're not comfortable within yourself, you can't be comfortable with others."
Sidney J. Harris
