hope
was something that just involved me
and was thus less than spiritual????
faith
was something that involved God and me
and was something more to be desired....and harder.
but I was wrong.
that you don't really hear it.
I realize that all of you are probably wondering why I didn't realize this before, thus it seems a little elementary, but I just always thought that 'faith' was in the bible and 'hope' was in our heads. That faith was biblical and hope was secular.
but I was wrong.
the definitions of hope that most people have given are secular.
Hope, especially when used in the Bible (Heb 3:6) means a confident expectation.
When it comes to God, you don't just hope something might happen.
You eagerly
and patiently
and earnestly
and steadfastly expect that it will.
Faith is what gives hope. You have hope because you have faith.
Maybe?
The roots are faith.
The stem is hope.
The fruit is Love.
