Dear BabyLove,
Yup! You are almost four months and mommy is JUST now posting your 3 month stuff. Woopsy! But I kinda feel like I have a good excuse this time. I just started back to work so I spend all of my moments at home simply soaking you up (and trying to catch up on the constantly multiplying pile of laundry)! Plus, I got sick my first week back (of course) and then I gave it to you (soooo sorry!). Frankly, mommy has just got to figure out this whole working mom thing. I'm starting to think it's for those organized, "Supermom" types, which I'm not, but everybody has to have goals, right??

^ You were totally NOT feeling the photo shoot, but I swear you love being 3 months because you can't stop smiling!
How did I go almost 28 years without you?! You are absolute perfection and I'm so glad you are mine. You are 3 months and two weeks and you wake up every morning with the biggest smile on your face. I started back to work last week (well it was last week when I wrote this originally) and that adorable little smile makes it soooooo hard to leave you but knowing you get to spend all day with Darlin makes it possible for me to walk out that door.
You are constantly doing new things... Which makes me sad and happy. Happy because you are doing exactly what you are supposed to be doing but sad because I'm missing some of it. Last week, you grabbed a toy and rolled over (without any assistance)! Darlin was there for the toy moment and I was there when you rolled over. (Actually, your dad was There too but he didn't make it around the corner in time so of course he says it didn't happen since HE didn't see it. But it so did!) Along with motorboating, the skill you picked up after hanging out with G man, you now also LOVE to grab your toes! You pretty much keep your hiney in the air constantly . Even when you do tummy time, your little booty goes up first. Really hope you grow out of this by preschool. Would hate for you to be THAT kid always showing his tail; ) hehe For now though, it's precious and you can put that tush wherever you can get it! Ooh and you jump every time you see Mingo jump or when I sneeze. I know you probably just had a little mini heart attack but dang, your face is just so funny!

So basically this is you at 3 months: your fingers in your mouth, your toes in your hands, your bootay in the air, wrapped in someone's arms, bouncing on a ball, with a boob nearby. When the stars align and all of this happens, you are in heaven. And it just so happens that the stars align quite often for you.
I am loving every moment with you and I can't imagine it getting better... But I know it will because it always does.
I love you more than all of the blinks in the world!
Mama
P.S. Think of the biggest thing you can imagine... I love you more than that.

Tips to remember for baby #2 (because I have just GOT to do this again!)
Tip 1: Don't buy the expensive, cute baby clothes for the first three months. Nobody but family sees the baby, except for when you go to the pediatricians office and they make you strip the baby and wrap a blanket around them. So just buy cute blankets! Ha
Tip 2: Breast feeding- Stock up on Lansinoh Lanolin and breast pads. Like 4 things of each, minimum!!! Drink water constantly. Don't skip meals, which means keep things around you can make one handed (Spoonful of peanut butter, anyone?). To establish supply, pump after every feeding and don't go longer than 3 hours without pumping for the first 6 weeks (so not fun when you have a rock star baby like Archer who has slept 4-6 hours hours at least every night since the beginning, but just do it anyway, okay?!?). Also, it's going to hurt and be miserable in the beginning, just remember it really does get better in a few weeks! Try to find a support system that won't make it easy for you to give up on those oh-my-god-I-think-my-nipple-is-going-to-fall-off-days (thank you Mama and Nadja)!
Tip 3: Everybody is going to have advice and everybody is going to think their way is right.. And it is right.. For them. That does not mean it's right for you. Figure out what works for your family and you are mom of the year (to your family anyway and that's what REALLY matters, right?!?)
Tip 4: When somebody offers to help, let them. If they didn't want to help they wouldn't have offered. It's sooooooo important to take care of you, too! (Remember how good bathing feels when it's been a few days?! Hah)
to be continued...
