Dear BabyLove,
5 things you taught me in 5 months..
1. NEVER say never. Every time I say you never do something, you do it within 24 hours. For example, I have said, " my child NEVER sleeps past 5:30" and what do you do the next (and only) morning??? Yup. You slept until 6:00. I have tried to say it out loud again since then, but I think you are on to me. You have made me out to look like a liar in similar situations more than I can count, but that's okay. I know you can't help you are a genius baby and you already understand what I say.

2. You are in a constant state of change. And I'm not just talking about the status of your diapers. I mean, just because you slept for 11 hours several nights last week does not mean you will continue that lovely sleep schedule the next. Just because you let me lie you down for all of your naps today, does not mean you will let me do the same tomorrow. Just because you screamed the entire time you were in your car seat does not mean you won't sit and play happily in that same car seat next time. It's actually kind of comforting. For every moment we struggle through, I KNOW there are easy, wonderful moments right around the corner.
3. Not all babies are the same. So all the advice that is thrown around at us in a gazillion directions, is heard, but not always taken. I'm sooooooo glad that another baby slept through the night from 4 weeks old, never cries, is in the 100th percentile for height and weight, and meets every milestone weeks early.
I don't hate that you wake up a few times at night. I would have to get up and pump anyway so it's like a little bonus that when I wake up, I get to snuggle you. You cry sometimes. You're a baby. Babies do that (but it still hurts somewhere in my tummy when I hear you cry real big). You are average for height and weight and that does not mean you are hungry. You are a piglet and you would stay on the boob nonstop if I would let you (sorry when this embarrasses you one day). You will crawl, walk, talk, and sleep through the night whenever you are ready. Until then, we are figuring all of this out together as we go. I really do love hearing what worked for others.. but I also love knowing that if it doesn't work for us, that is okay. : )

4. My life is great and the people in it make it wonderful... Especially you. You make every moment of every day better.
5. Everybody thinks that their baby is the cutest/sweetest/most precious/etc of all babies ever created and I am no different. When I hear someone gushing about how perfect their child is it doesn't make me want to start telling them all the ways you are better. It makes me smile. I love that these mamas think their kiddos are as amazing as I think you are. I think every kid deserves to be loved like that. And I'm especially glad that I got you to gush shout.. Because I think you are the cutest/sweetest/most precious/etc of all babies! Hehe
The past five months have been so fun... I cannot wait to see how fun things are when you are six months (but really I can wait. Definitely not rushing you, dude.).
Think of the biggest thing you can imagine... I love you more than that.
